The Icelandic volcanic eruption has recently caused much disruption of travel plans for many of us. A large number of people made their claims on travel insurance. The claims were delayed in leaving for their destination, and hotel accommodation can not use it. They made their claim on the assumption that they were covered, and would automatically receive compensation. Unfortunately for them, they received letters saying their call was dropped. Of course, they were furious. But the people asked what would not pay for their insurance? After all the volcanic ash had so much disturbance, would cause so many people. The insurance answer was that the volcanic ash was not just a simple “bad weather” conditions, would be covered under their policy.
Under normal circumstances, if you are delayed, you can delay an amount for each group of hours and you are, if you claim more than 24 hours late, you can select your trip altogether.
